Fira - Capital of Santorini
Fira is the capital of Santorini. There has been controversy over the origin of the capital's name. Some say that it is derived from Thera, which is how the island was called about over 2500 years ago. Linguists argue that the name Fira comes from the adjective Pyrros, which means reddish.
