Argyros Winery

The Argyros winery was founded in 1903 and is located at Episkopi Gonia. They cultivate 21 hectares of vine. Argyros has balanced between tradition and technology and his white and sweet wines are considered to be amongst the best of Greece. The series of Atlantida, though not fancy, is impressive enough and prepares us for the rest of his wines. The Estate Argyros Barrel has been characterized as the best Greek wine.

But, his most famous wine is the Vinsanto, which matures for 15 years in old oak barrels and a few more years in new oak barrels. Those who happened to watch him when he is preparing to make the new Vinsanto, state that it is almost a spiritual experience. The Argyros winery has been classified among the best 100 wineries of the world for 2005 and 2006 by the Wine & Spirits magazine.
