Gavalas Winery

The Gavalas winery is located at Megalochori since 1895. It was one of the first wineries that used rare indigenous varieties besides the main ones. They provided with wine Athens, Piraeus and Alexandria, Egypt. In 1973, they established their own shop in Athens. During the 1980s, they produced Vinsanto . The last 15 years, they are focused on their own products. Today, Gavalas combines tradition with technology in order to produce his wines. They cultivate 29 hectares of vine. The delicate, fresh and light Xenoloo is their most debatable wine, as it has sworn friends and enemies.

Xenoloo: Dry red wine from Mavrotragano, Voudomato and Athiri varieties that matures in oak barrels for 12 months. It accompanies game, red sauces, cheese.
