Sigalas Winery
Sigalas Winery

Sigalas' winery is located at Baxedes, in Oia. It was founded by Paris Sigalas in 1991 and in 1998 it was transferred to its present location. The same period, Sigalas went into a partnership with Alexandros Avataggelos and Thanasis Fakorelis. They cultivate 10 hectares of organic vines traditionally and 10 hectares of palisade vineyard using modern methods. Sigalas' Santorini, Assyrtiko Athiri and Vinsanto have won many prizes in various competitions. In the winery, there is the possibility of combining wine tasting with local food.

Santorini: VQPRD dry white wine from 100% Assyrtiko that is served at 10-11 C and accompanies fish, seafood, white meat, light sauces.

Barrel Santorini: VQPRD dry white wine from 100% Assyrtiko that ferments in oak barrels and matures with the “sur lies” method. It is served at 12 C and accompanies fish, seafood, white meat, smoked cheese.

Assyrtiko-Athiri: VQPRD dry white wine from 75% Assyrtiko and 25% Athiri.

Mezzo bottle

Apiliotis (mezzo): Sweet red table wine from 100% Mandilaria sun dried grapes that ages in the barrel for about 1 year. It is served at 12 C as aperitif.

Niampelo: Dry red table wine from 70% Mandilaria and 30% Nemea Agiorgitiko that ages for 1 year in stainless steel tanks.

Mavrotragano

Mavrotragano

Mavrotragano: Dry red regional wine from 100% Mavrotragano that is left in new oak barrels for 18 months.

Vinsanto

Vinsanto: VQPRD sweet wine from 75% Assyrtiko and 25% Aidani sun dried grapes that age for at least 2 years in oak barrels. Served as aperitif.
