Santorini BeachesSantorini is famous for its beaches but not because they are long, sandy and gold as they are in the other Greek islands but because they are unique due to their black sand and pebbles which is a result of the volcano existence in the island. Some of the island’s best beaches are in Kamari, Perissa, Perivolos, Monolithos, Armeni and Amoudi along with the white and red beaches which are accessible by boat. |

Santorini VillagesThe island of Santorini is full of beautiful villages with unique beauty, all with different characteristics, with friendly habitants, picturesque squares, whitewashed houses, churches with blue domes, traditional tavernas, cobbled streets and villagers selling traditional products on the streets. Tourists fill their streets every day, visiting the local shops, buying souvenirs, tasting the Santorinian dishes and drinking the local wines for which the island is famous for. Leaving Santorini without visiting villages such as Imerovigli, Oia, Pyrgos, Fira, Firostefani, Amoudi, Megalochori and Kamari would be such a waste. |

Santorini VolcanoWhen we refer to the volcano, we mean Palea (old) and Nea (new) Kameni, two small islands of black lava positioned in the centre of the basin of Santorini. Due to a huge eruption which took place 3,500 years ago Santorini took its current shape and morphology and the results of the eruption are still apparent today. The myth of the lost Atlantis has been based on that eruption and the sinking of a big part of the island. |
